"I'm Tired and I Want to Go to Bed" Art journal, watercolour
Day 110: Nothing to Fear...
Today I followed an impulse to throw some acrylic paint around for a change.

I started this piece in a workshop some years ago but haven't touched it since then, until now. I am running out of abandoned projects to complete!

"My easel in my basement studio, with a pastel landscape painting in progress" Art journal, ink.
My third painting for the pact I made with Sandra is well underway. I will show it to you tomorrow (which is my deadline!). Meanwhile, here is a sketch of it on my easel.
Day 107
Finished another pastel piece I had abandoned years ago.

"Blind contour drawing of Kayla..." Art journal, ink
In case you're wondering: a fellow pastel artist that I follow on Instagram challenged her followers to do a blind contour drawing every day for three days. That seemed like a good idea to me. So here is number two.
I am not forgetting that I promised two more finished paintings this week! I'm working on that!
Day 105
"Blind contour drawing of Stacey doing a blind contour drawing of me" Art journal, ink.
Day 104
"The Fun Never Stops" Art journal, ink.
Looking at Facebook today, I was struck by a photo posted by a friend of the inner workings of a lock. I liked the shapes and the way they made a kind of abstract design. So this drawing is based on that. All his post said was "The fun never stops" -- hence the title.
Day 103: Back to Work
More than a hundred days into my year of living artfully, I hadn't touched my pastels, my "primary" medium, until I tackled this piece, which I actually started and then abandoned several years ago.

Day 101
"Poor Pansy" Art journal, watercolour
This is the first time I have been reluctant to post the day's efforts! But post it I must.
Day 100!
"Cut and Blow Dry" Mixed media and found object collage, art journal.
Named for one of its, er, unorthodox ingredients. But hey, there has famously been art made with raw meat and elephant dung, so this is no worse than that!
Day 99
Day 99! This morning I was googling pictures of Barbara Feldon in "Get Smart" thinking I might draw "Agent 99" for today's art. But then I left it till the 11th hour and ended up dashing off some quick sketches of my left hand. Can you tell when my right brain kicked in?
Day 98
On an impulse I started placing mixtures of greyed down blues and greens on my art journal page in rows of "swatches." Eventually, the places where the paint "bloomed" seemed to suggest a landscape, so I helped it along with my pen.

Art journal, ink.
Stacey (my daughter) is my art project coach. It was her idea to try drawing with my left hand. I figured, "Why only one handicap? Go for two." And I did a blind contour drawing of Stacey.
Day 96
"Under the Weather" Art journal, mixed media.
This was another one of those times when I didn't feel like doing anything, somewhat reluctantly approached the blank page, and just started. I didn't know where I was going until I got there.
Day 95
Art journal, ink.
Sketched the corner of my bedroom as seen from my bed where I spent most of the day nursing a bad cold. Sighting angles when drawing linear perspective is kind of mind-blowing: the old battle between what you see and what you know.
Day 94
"Grumpy Mood Doodle". Art journal, ink.
Not feeling well, house a mess, burnt my steak that I grilled outside IN THE SNOW.... Grrrr. I was not in the mood for my art of the day, but I did it anyway... And that helped.
Day 93
"David Barrett and Mark Holmes at The Orbit Room" Art journal, ink
Tried doing some sketching at a live show this evening. I didn't manage to capture Dave (furthest away), so when I got home I added a six-string doodle as a nod to his great guitar playing.
Day 92
Quickie sketches done while watching Schitts Creek on TV. Art journal, ink.
