"Singing and the Rain" Art journal, watercolour and ink
Today's piece was all about spontaneous process. It began at choir rehearsal with doodling to the music with my fountain pen. When I got home, I let the rain fall on the page and then I splattered paint onto the raindrops. Then came some blow-drying, more raindrops, and finally sprinkling with glittery stuff.

I forgot to watch the Golden Globes on TV this evening, but I heard about Meryl Streep's speech and then watched it online. It was an eloquent and moving political commentary. She ended it with this quote from Carrie Fisher.

Having my studio in the basement has unexpected benefits, like finding new drawing subjects. For some reason I am very taken with this tool!
