I don't suppose this needs much explanation, but it's inspired by the ongoing (and escalating) horror show south of our border, especially the ban that just took effect.
One interesting note, though: the image of a pit of snakes, from National Geographic, is of a certain species in Manitoba. As the accompanying article said, and as pointed out by a friend on Facebook who used to live in Manitoba and recognized them, these snakes are harmless. So, although I meant them to represent the despicable characters who now occupy the White House (as well as the "deplorables" who voted for the snake-in-chief), they could also represent the irrationally feared immigrants and refugees now being shut out of the U.S.
