Today's art endeavour was a little photo shoot for reference material for the series I'm working on (I'm expanding on my old "Pears in Squares" series, but now with fabric and striped shadows, on large canvases, as you saw in my post a couple of days ago). This is a quick study/sketch from one of the "selects".
Quickie sketches in my studio.
After 411 days of posting something "complete" (however simple it might be) every day, this evening a change: this is a work in progress. I did paint for a couple of hours, so I'm declaring that it counts! It's a 36 x 36" canvas and I'm working with acrylics.
I have been thinking for weeks about what to do about my art of the day project, having completed my original goal of a year. It didn't feel right to stop, because it does keep me doing art. But I do think I need to give up completing something every day.
So I hope you enjoy seeing work in progress and find it interesting!
"Happy Valentine's Day, Mr. Trump" Art journal, acrylics.
Valentine's Day ended with the New York Times dropping a bombshell story about the Trump campaign's contact with Russia. My reaction is this page in my art journal, reminiscent of my election night one. This thing is gonna blow. At least let's hope so.
